There is something I understand now...

Retired people are always busy and never have time for anything. I've always wondered why that is.
I've finally figured it out...

When you're working every day for, say, 40 years, there are a lot of things you can't do because you just don't have the time. Throughout those 40 years you make mental lists of things you want to do once you have the time, and when you finally retire, you start working on that list. As a result, you never have time for anything and are always busy (but at least with things you've been wanting to do).

That's how I feel. I spent two years in school where every weekend I did homework. The list of things I've been wanting to do with my weekends instead has gotten longer and longer. And it's boring stuff - painting, hanging pictures, repotting plants, sorting through 2 years worth of mail. But it needs to get done and takes time.

Foolishly I assumed that once I graduate, I would have time to do things and catch up with my friends. But instead, I'm catching up on the things I haven't done in the last two years.

It never stops... But at least my condo is no longer boring beige... :)
